More on Garbage Bags

Geronimo_(Goyathlay),_a_Chiricahua_Apache,_full-length,_kneeling_with_rifle,_1887_-_NARA_-_530880    Sometimes only a sand bag will do.  If you’ve got garbage bags you can fill those with dirt, sand if you’ve got it and voila!  Why would you need a sandbag, other that the traditional flooding use?  How about:

Reinforcing you wall or door, mass stops bullets.

Building up a foxhole.

Creating a small shelter.

You can also use a garbage bag to hide yourself – yes… My family is part Apache, the story is we are actually descended from Geronimo which may or may not be true. He did have a lot of wives, so who knows. But I digress.  What the Apaches used to do when they were on the run and in the open is they would bury themselves in the dirt and then come out once the pursuers had long passed.  So should you find yourself in that situation:  dig a hole, put a bag over you and cover yourself up with dirt.  Might work in snow too.

Do you know the strategic advantage that Caching gives you?  Put what you need in a garbage bag and bury it in the agreed to regrouping spot.  At least you will have some water, tools, food, and weapons should you get run off.  They won’t see you coming when you reclaim what’s yours.

It would work in snow or dirt-as long as you leave yourself a way to breathe…as oxygen consumption is sorta important ya know.

(an 18″ piece of PVC is very light, and would make a perfect breathing tube-among other things…)

It is a great idea-in certain areas-in many parts of the country, you couldn’t dig a hole in the dirt deep enough to hide in unless you had a mini-excavator or a backhoe.
